OBJECTIVE

Sujavanthy started her training in Bharatanatyam at a very early and tender age of 5. Her dedication to this art form was further honed by a variety of distinguished exponents in Bharatanatyam from India which kindled her commitment to reach beyond the ordinary. Sujavanthy completed her Bharatanatyam Arangetram and received award from “ Padma Shri Padma Subramanian ”. She has performed and received many awards in different Sabhas in India like Music Academy, Ganna Sabha, Naradha Ganna Sabha, Rani Sethai Hall, Lady Andal School, Mylapore Fine Arts, and Shree Parthasarathy Swami Sabha. She has performed in front of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu at “ Valluvar Kottam ”. She has participated and won many prizes in TV shows like “ Thillana Thillana ” (Sun TV dance show), “ Vivel Miss Chennai 2009 ” (Vijay TV show, crowed as “ Miss Talent ”) . Sujavanthy has performed internationally for “ Natya Sangam ”, “ Tamil Sangam ” and other dance schools in New Jersey across various locations in the United States. Over the past 22 years she has demonstrated great dedication to this art form through here impressive variety of performances, excellent Choreographies, volunteering as a Teacher to spread the art form and judging a variety of performances. She also loves to write blogs about this art form and is keen to promote the same across the Globe.

Education Background

• Completed my schooling from S.B.O.A (State board officers association Chennai India).
• Completed my Under graduation from Saveetha engineering college. (Bachelor of Engineering in computer science).
• Completed my Masters from SRM University (Master of Business Administration).

1994 – 1998 : Student at “ Kalaikootam Dance Academy ”

• Performed at Kalaikootam Dance Academy school annual day.
• Completed my “ SalangaiPooja ” course.

1998 – 2007 : Performer at “Nrithyakshetra Dance Academy” (INDIA)

• Performed at Music Academy Mini hall for Music and dance festival season on November 26th for the Natyajali trust India.
• Performed at Kalapadeem under the auspices of Kapali Fine Arts Mylapore India.
• Performed at Varasiddhi Vinayaka temple at Besant Nagar under the auspices of Natyajali India. All these performances are well appreciated by the audience and press.
• Received Award from Honorable district collector Mr. Gandhi for Kurathi dance at Rani Sethai hall.
• Performed in front of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu at Valluvarkottam, Nungambakkam, Chennai.
• Completed my Arangetram Course and performed at Rani Sethai hall and received award from “ Padma Shri Padma Subramanian “.
• Represented my school for many “ Inter-school competitions ”.
• Participated and won in “ ThilanaThilana ” dance competition conducted by Sun TV Network.

2009 – 2013 : Choregrapher / Performances

• Performed at Lady Andal School on October 2013 for Nrityalakshana dance school annual day.
• Crowned as Ms.Folk in Vivel Miss Chennai 2009 for dancing an semi-classical dance “ kurathi ” which was telecasted in Vijay TV.
• Performed at “ Naradha Ganna Sabha ” on Feb 2013 and the details about this performances is been published in many newspapers like Chennai Chronicle (Deccan Chronicle), and Chennai Times (Times of India).

2013 – 2014 : Choreographer at New Jersey Natya Sangam

• Choreographed and performed for New Jersey Tamil Sangam on the eve of Tamil New Year day.
• Choreographed and performed at Krishna Vrundhavan temple at New Jersey.
• Sujavanthy conducted Various summer workshop for different dance school at New Jersey.
• Sujavanthy Received award at various dance schools in New Jersey.

2014 to Present -Dance teacher / Choreographer/founder and director

• Choreographed for 8 songs at ” NC-NAACH 360 2016 “.
• Choregraphed for Lead India 2020 (A Tribute to people’s President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam) conducted by the Chairman / Founder Dr. Sudershan Acharya 2016.
• As Dance Teacher/Choreographer Sujavanthy took classes for more than 110 students in different dance school at New Jersey.
• Choreographed and performed for Garden State cultural association Durga Pooja.
• Choreographed and performed at Atlantic City Library International Night series (The Atlantic city free library and city of Atlantic City Library international night series at Kennedy plaza. This show feature multi-cultural music and dance around the world for NC).
• Choreographed and performed at Time Square Diwali celebrations on Sep 27th, 2014 in New York City for NC.
• Speaker for Anubhava Conference happen at “Flushing temple on july 27th 2016.
• Choreographed for “NC-NAACH 360 2015 ” Dance recital at North Brunswick township high school.
• Choreographed for Ganesha Festival for NC students, the dance was telecasted in Zee TV.
• Choreographed for Swamy Vivekananda Celebration Conducted by The Hindu Temple Society Of North America” on May 7th 2016 at Flushing Temple New York .
